Mocha at the Vet

These pictures were taken right after Mocha's temperature was taken rectally, which she did not appreciate at all. Temp. was > 104 Fahrenheit, therefore antibiotic, anti inflammatory and antihistamine shots were indicated. Poor Mocha went wild when the vet attempted the injections. She bit her in the hand and jumped off the treatment table. I managed to calm her down and hold her, only to drop her when she hissed at me and tried to scratch and bite me. The syringes ended up on the floor and had to be replaced twice, not to mention the blood all over everything from the vet's bleeding hand. In the end, we placed Mocha back in her carrier and zipped it up, so the vet could give her the shots through the netting of the carrier. Poor Mocha was beside herself. Kathy, the vet suggested that we avoid further office visits and communicate by phone from now on to avoid traumatizing and stressing Mocha even more. If further treatment is necessary, Mocha will have to be sedated first.

Sunset

Took Mocha for her rabies shot today. After we got home she vomited 6 or 7 times. We had to return to the vet...after they took her temp, it was 103.3, she received 2 shots, an antihistamine and an antipyretic, and a fluid bolus. What an ordeal for poor Mocha. On our return trip to the vet we observed this beautiful sunset.

Glad to be outside

for a short drive today after having to pull an all nighter at work last night and seeing very little daylight this week. I also got a long overdue haircut and had a subway sandwich. Oh, what an exciting live I lead.

for more classes today and I'm regretting it already.

 Just a few minutes ago it was 8 degrees Fahrenheit.

I finished my clinical ladder notebook. It's due tomorrow. It was pretty much an all day project, and of course, I couldn't have done it without Mocha's help and supervision.

Meine Katze Mocha hat mir heute wieder mal bei der Arbeit geholfen.

Welcome 2010

Minnie, Mocha and I celebrated the new year with a slightly non traditional meal of deviled eggs, sauerkraut, mashed potatoes and bratwurst.

Merry Christmas !!!

I woke up to a white Christmas this morning, it was snowing a little....but only for an hour.

Heute morgen hat's geschneit, allerdings war der Schnee schon innerhalb einer Stunde wieder verschwunden. Vielleicht gibt' s morgen mehr.

I feel better today and finally have time to update my blog.

was over for our Christmas gift exchange. My gift is still at Minnie's house, she couldn't fit it in her car. It's a book shelf.

just unwrapped her gift from Minnie, a little mouse on wheels. She seems to like it.
