The last several days....

Minnie celebrated her birthday...Happy Birthday Minnie !

Erik visited his friend Billy for a few days in Cape..
Yesterday he helped grandma and grandpa ....and cleaned the pool..

Julia is spending time in Wheaton ( will return today)..She just arrived... (11 pm)

I made a brief excursion to Sikeston yesterday afternoon to go to the scrapbooking store ....spent too much money

This afternoon..
Fun in the pool, shortly afterwards it was raining cats and dogs. Luckily, we were indoors having a delicious meal at Minnie's.
Heute nachmittag...
Im Pool bei gluehender Hitze, kurz danach ein Gewitter mit Wolkenbruch. Waehrend des Unwetters waren wir bei Minnie zum Essen.


 

Gestern nachmittag waren Julia und ich kurz in der neuen Mall in Jonesboro. Sehr schoen...
Man merkt sofort, dass man weiter suedlich ist, wegen der groesseren Hitze und Luftfeuchtigkeit.
 

Gestern hatte ich Bereitschaft und musste auch schon um 5 h in die Klinik,allerdings nur bis 11:30h, danach nichts mehr. Inzwischen war die Grandma da, weil Julia ihr bei einer online Bestellung bei Amazon helfen sollte. Das hat dann auch geklappt.
Spaeter machte dann der Billy noch einen Ueberraschungsbesuch bei uns.

Yesterday I was on call and had to go to work early...when I got home Julia's grandma was here..she needed help with ordering a book at Amazon. ..Later on Billy made a surprise visit...We are always glad to see him....

 

Thursday late afternoon Julia and I were on our way to Jonesboro, Arkansas to go to the new mall. However, we only got as far as Corning before we decided to head back to Missouri...a bad storm was coming and we didn't want to end up in the middle of it. Back in Poplar Bluff we stoppedc at Sonic and had onion rings and a BLT.
In the mean time, Erik is getting ready to go to Springfield with Ryan. He'll be back on sunday.
Am Donnerstag nachmittag wollten Julia und ich nach Jonesboro, Arkansas in die neue Mall. Wir mussten aber in Corning (gleich nach der MO- AR Grenze ) umkehren, da ein schweres Gewitter aufzog. Haben dann noch kurz bei Sonic gegessen. Wir kamen gerade rechtzritig heim, um den Erik nach Springfield zu verabschieden. Ryan ist natuerlich auch mitgefahren.


 

Thursday ..still very hot..the best place to be is in the pool...unless you are a cat..
Donnerstag ...immer noch sehr heiss, da fuehlt man sich im Pool am wohlsten....die Katze schaut allerdings nur vom Rand aus zu...


 

This week.....
First of all we have both cars in the drive way...both Julia and Erik are home at the same time ...

Julia got a new perm from Kevin ....looks good
Lunch at Perkins ...Julia had Pancakes , I had my usual Eggs Benedict, Erik switched from pancakes to Eggs Benedict and found out that it was pretty good...

Of course ..Ryan is here somewhere...

Diese Woche....
beide Autos sind da, wenn ich morgens auf die Arbeit fahre...
Julia hat sich eine Dauerwelle machen lassen....sieht gut aus...
Mittwoch nachmittag haben wir bei Perkins gegessen...da gibts fuer jeden Geschmack etwas...ich esse jedenfalls immer die "Eggs Benedict" (deshalb geh ich dort hin)
Der Ryan ist in letzter Zeit immer da...ich hab ihn schon gefragt, ob er eingezogen ist...

Erik made it home last night around midnight ( after 11 hours on the road). The cat was happy to see him.

Erik ist gestern um ca Mitternacht gekommen, nach der 11 stuendigen Fahrt. Die Katze hat sich auch gefreut.


 

"Flying J" Rasthaus, gestern auf Interstate 55 Richtung Memphis . Dort gibt es Magnete von allen US Staaten.

That's where I had to go to get the magnets. 

Now you see beautiful crapemyrtle all over town, ranging in color from white, pale pink, hot pink, all the way to purple. This one is in the neighbor's backyard . We can barely see it across the fence when we are in the pool.
Erik just called, he has not left Detroit yet, but plans on leaving in the next few minutes. He said the wedding was very nice yesterday..today they all had brunch at Dave's house (the groom).
Julia called last night from Bobby's , her drive was uneventful and she arrived safely. They were getting ready to watch a movie when I spoke with her.
I'm getting ready to go to Cape now to pick up my pre-sale item from Lancome and buy some magnets for my mom for her birthday.She collects magnets of the 50 states.

Man muss sich schon sehr anstrengen, um diese schoenen Blueten in Nachbars Garten vom Pool zu sehen. Aber ich hab's geschafft.
Erik hat eben angerufen, er ist noch nicht los gefahren, will aber Detroit innerhalb der nachsten 30 Minuten verlassen. Hat wohl recht gefeiert auf der Hochzeit gestern. Es sei sehr schoen gewesen und heute waren alle noch zum Bruch bei Dave, das ist der Braeutigam.
Julia ist getern gut bei Bobby in Arkansas angekommen. Sie wollten einen Film anschauen, nach dem Anruf zu mir.
Ich fahr jetzt nach Cape , hab neulich was bei Lancome bestellt, das muss ich abholen. Ausserdem will ich vorher noch nach Sikeston zum "Flying J " , um Magnete fuer Mutti zu kaufen, fuer ihre Sammlung.
