Easter sunday...church.....both services were very full
then lunch at Ryan's (Minnie went with us to eat) ....Steak and Shrimp... all you can eat.....It was very crowded and we ate more than we should have. Fortunately, we only go there every 2 or 3 years, or we would weigh significantly more...

Ostersonntag...
Gottesdienst, ich um 9:30h und die Julia um 11:ooh, es waren insgesammt fast 900 Leute dort.
Danach waren wir bei Ryans mit Minnie ....die Oma kennt das ja...
Da waren noch mehr Leute als in der Kirche..... Wir hatten Steak und Shrimp mit allen moeglichen Salaten usw. Soviel man wollte...Zum Glueck gehen wir da nur alle paar Jahre hin, sonst wuerde sich unser Umfang um einiges erweitern.

Today I read an article on procrastination, I found out that there are two different kinds......Tonight Julia did her tax return. I wonder what category that falls in?

Heute hab ich einen Artikel ueber Prokrastination gelesen. Es gibt zwei verschiedene Arten davon...Heute abend hat die Julia ihre Steuererklaerung gemacht...letzter Termin ist der 15.April....
Die Oma wuerde jetzt sagen, "Was du heute kannst besorgen, das verschiebe nicht auf morgen".

Julia ist am Sonntag wieder gut aus Indianapolis zurueck gekommen. Unten 2 Hochzeitsbilder. Julia ist die 2. von links, die Kate ist ganz rechts im roten Kleid und die Braut ist natuerlich in weiss.

Just talked to Julia, she is getting ready to leave Indianapolis now. She'll be back in PB tonight.
It looks beautiful outside, but the temp. is only 6o's F. After church , Minnie and I ate at Perkins...I had my usual : Eggs Benedict.
Hab eben mit Julia telefoniert, sie ist noch in Indianapolis, faehrt aber jetzt bald zurueck und kommt dann heute abend hier an.
Nach der Kirche war ich mit Minnie bei Perkins zum Essen, ich hatte Eggs Benedict, wie immer. DieSonne scheint zwar, wie man auch auf den Bildern sieht, aber es ist nur 14 C.

 

Much cooler today. Had heavy rains and thunderstorms during the night. Just got back from Ladies luncheon at church. Lots of salads and deserts. Ate too much as usual. Good speakers and antique decorations. The theme was : Voices from the past". Pat Ceren's mother and Nancy Proctor's mothers were honored and remembered.
Julia's friend Bobbi will be here later with her little boy Gabriel. She is in town till tomorrow. Too bad that Julia missed her. 

This morning...April 7th.
I'm driving to work and Julia is getting ready for her trip to Indianapolis to attend a friend's wedding.
Heute....Ich fahre zur Arbeit in die Klinik...Julia trifft die letzten Vorbereitungen fuer ihre 6 stuendige Fahrt nach Indianapolis zur Hochzeit einer Freundin. { Sie kam dann auch um 16 h dort an}

....... gestern vom Nachbarn geklaut. Riecht allerdings nicht so gut wie der deutsche Flieder.
 

Die Katze hat uns adoptiert und kommt immer angerannt sobald man raus geht. Beim fotografieren vorhin hat sie mich geschubst, um gestreichelt zu werden. Leider wurden deshalb einige meiner Blumenbilder unscharf.......
Erich....ins Maul konnte ich ihr uebrigens noch nicht schauen...

This cat adopted us a few weeks ago. She always comes running when we are outside wanting attention ...and food.

Today ........Heute bei uns.

Am Montag gab's dann auch noch eine Geburtstagstorte von Julia. Die war natuerlich vom Donut House. 

While we were sleeping last night, we had lots of severe weather all around us, in the Missouri bootheel, southern Illinois, parts of Kentucky and Tennessee. Caruthersville, MO suffered severe damage from a tornado. Fortunately, we only had severe winds, heavy rain and thunderstorms in Poplar Bluff.
The pictures on the left were shown on local TV last night and were sent to me by my friend Mary Sue.

Gestern hatten wir wieder Tornados suedlich von Poplar Bluff, im "bootheel" (Stiefelabsatz) und in Arkansas, Kentucky und Tennessee.
Die Bilder wurden von einem sog. "storm chaser" fotografiert.
