Last Weekend of Summer

Edit : Of course it's Labor Day, I get that mixed up all the time.
unofficially.....since it's Memorial Day Weekend.....I was out this morning practicing for my photography class....decided to give Kitty a break from modeling today...

Das letzte Wochenende des Sommers ist, inoffiziell, Memorial Day Weekend, hier in USA....das Beste daran ist das lange Wochenende mit viel Zeit zum Fotografieren (fuer meinen Fotokurs)...die Katze musste heute mal nicht Model stehen...

Keeping

Excursion

took a drive to take pictures of sunflowers today...I ran into two really bad storms....thunder, lightning and very heavy rain...
unfortunately, I could not get very close to the sundlower field...
Bin heute los gefahren, um ein Sonnenblumenfeld zu fotografieren....unterwegs geriet ich in ein schweres Gewitter mit heftigem Regen....bin aber tapfer weiter gefahren, trotz Blitz, Donner und Aquaplaning....leider kam ich dann doch nicht nahe genug an die Sonnenblumen ran.

Volunteering

up early last saturday (8-16) to document the 2nd annual 5K Share Run.....
.....remembering the babies who died in early infancy and/or pregnancy. The proceeds of the event are used to help families who have experienced such a loss.

Letzten Samstag hab ich eine Wohltaetigkeitsveranstaltung fotografiert.

recently in Alley Spring with Minnie to try out some lenses a friend had loaned me. It was really too hot to do much.
Expedition nach Alley Spring um ein paar neue Objektive auszuprobieren. War leider nicht so ergiebig, da es so unheimlich heiss war.

Another hot day in Missouri

Heute ist wieder Hitzewarnung in unserer Ecke von Missouri....(wir sind in Butler County).

Wir hatten die ganze Woche schon unertraeglich hohe Temperaturen und Luftfeuchtigkeit (Gestern abend um 18 h immer noch 101 Fahrenheit). Ohne Klimaanlagen koennte ich's hier nicht aushalten...es ist schon eine grosse Anstrengung sich Draussen zu bewegen...

It's been very hot and humid all week. I could not function without AC. It takes great effort just to walk across the parking lot... from the hospital to my car.

Peach Season

Picked up some peaches yesterday, directly from the orchard. So yummy. Peach cobbler today.

Gestern war ich in Campbell um Pfirsiche zu kaufen und zu fotografieren. Es war so unertraeglich heiss, dass ich nur ein paar Bilder machen konnte. Die Pfirsiche schmecken einwandfrei, wie immer. Heute gabs " Pfirsich cobbler".
