Tornado Warning in Stoddard County

Tornadoes Spotted

Thunderstorms moved through parts of Southeast Missouri and Western Kentucky Thursday afternoon. One of the thunderstorms produced at least one tornado in Southeast Missouri.
A Tornado Warning was issued by the National Weather Service at 4:35 p.m. for Stoddard County. A number of Severe Thunderstorms were issued for counties in Southeast Missouri and Western Kentucky.
Thanks to Wes Rodgers from Dexter, Missouri for the pictures he emailed to the Heartland StormTeam Thursday evening. He tells us that there were two tornadoes and they were located about 250 yards off of Highway D and 5 miles from Highway 25 in Stoddard County. The tornadoes were moving north.
According to the National Weather Service office in Paducah, Kentucky a trained spotter reported a rope tornado at County Road 751 and County Road 736. The spotter reported that the tornado touched down two times and it was on the ground for 2-3 minutes each time.
No damage was reported to the National Weather Service.
