Happy St.Patrick's Day

We celebrated St. Patty's Day at work with the employee breakfast. In the years past we enjoyed a great spread for breakfast, including fruit and pastries, sponsored by administration. This year they decided to go the more traditional route with green eggs and green gravy. The eggs didn't taste any better than they looked :-)
In der Klinik gibt es alljaehrlich ein schoenes Fruestueck fuer alle Mitarbeiter zum St. Patricks Day. Traditionell zelebriert man den St. Patrick's Tag mit gruen gefaerbtem Bier, Corned Beef und Weisskraut ueberall in USA. In Chicago, z. B. wird noch mit einer grossen St. Patrick's Parade gefeiert und der Chicago River wird gruen gefaerbt. Julia und Erik haben das vor eiigen Jahren mal mit erlebt....Deshalb wurden uns auch gruene Eier mit gruen gefaerbter Sosse serviert. Nicht sehr appetitlich, aber es gehoert dazu.
Zum Glueck gab's auch noch normales Essen :-).
Heute fahre ich mit Minnie nach Jonesboro..sie hat mich gestern schon erinnert, ein gruenes Kleidungsstueck zu tragen, das gehoert auch zum Brauch ( sonst wird man gekniffen). Ich lass es mal drauf ankommen....

Letzten Sonntag waren wir wieder mal bei Cracker Barrel in Cape. Das ist ein Restaurant mit altmodischem Laden..."country store", wo man gleich die Kalorien beim Shopping verarbeiten kann. Die Oma kennt das auch.
